We started our Hydrodemolition division in 1997 after having a decade of experience in utilizing high-pressure water blasting in many different ways. We found that high-pressure water was an effective tool to remove concrete surfaces without damaging the underlying structure. Through the utilization of the most advanced hydrodemoliton equipment, IVS is able to provide our customers with exceptional quality and on-time performance. IVS Hydro now offers specialty concrete services, including Latex Modified Concrete (LMC). Our mixed-on-site specialty concrete is formulated to the exact specific requirements of your agency.

The Hydrodemolition Process

Utilizing high-pressure water jets, hydrodemolition employs a direct impact approach to eliminate concrete. This technique allows for precise control over energy release, facilitating selective concrete removal. Engineered with precision, our equipment is tailored to achieve specified depths of solid concrete removal, effectively eliminating weakened or unsound concrete. During the process of extracting deteriorated, delaminated, or spalled concrete, the high-pressure water-jet naturally follows the path of least resistance. It encounters higher resistance when interacting with sound concrete and encounters lower resistance when addressing unsound concrete.
